Sarah Petersen comes to Lilium Center with experience working across rural and urban mental health settings, including veterans affairs, hospital, and outpatient care. She utilizes an eclectic, collaborative approach grounded in what works best for each individual client.

Sarah draws from evidence-based and integrative approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Somatic Experiencing, and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, alongside a strengths-based framework. Her work is flexible, client-centered, and responsive to each person’s unique needs and goals.

Sarah believes in the long-term value of mindfulness and meditation and often incorporates these practices into her work. She also recognizes that healing is not linear and enjoys supporting clients through the natural ups and downs of their mental health journey with steadiness and compassion.

Focus Areas Include: Anxiety, Trauma, Depression, PTSD, Veteran-related concerns, LGBTQ+ populations, Life Transitions, Chronic Health Conditions, and Substance Use Concerns.
